John Wesley Hardin (May 26, 1853-August 19, 1895) was a gunfighter of the American Old West. He was born in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas. His father, James G. Hardin was a Methodist preacher and circuit rider. John described his mother, Elizabeth, as, “a blonde, highly cultured, and charity predominated in her disposition.”
